NuFOAM is a honeycomb aluminium foam with a compression mechanism that absorbs impact. It can be used to protect buildings or equipment exposed to any type of debris likely to be thrown at them. In particular, it can be used in response to violent phenomena such as tornadoes, dissipating the effects of an impact by creating a shock-absorbing mattress. Combined with thin steel elements, it provides a lightweight modular solution and is made from fully recyclable materials.
For maintenance, renovation or new build projects, NuFOAM avoids the need for heavy rebuilding or reinforcement of structures to meet new building standards. NuFOAM also reduces material consumption and CO2 emissions by reducing the mass of the protection by a factor of 3 compared to a conventional steel or concrete based solution.
This modular solution is pre-assembled on site and then transported in one piece, reducing lifting operations and optimising site duration and consumption.
